Why are "spoiled", "entitled" and "whine" the go to words when people want to demonize the fan base and paint Bioware to be some kind of abused spouse? There is constructive criticism but some people went beyond that point and I'm sorry I was not raised that way. I'm not going to threaten and attack people just for not getting what I want. And if you think I am demonizing the fan base I'm not. There are some fantastic people in this fandom but there are also a great many bullies. The developers may have made some mistakes but they DID NOT deserve the abuse and do not deserve the abuse they still get. BioWare devs were personally insulted and threatened on TWITTER, which is now the replacement for the BSN.

Bioware Houston is currently the long-term developer for Star Wars via Lucas Arts and Disney Interactive, and right now they have at least one huge title in works, it's rumored to be Knights of the Old Republic, not the MMO.
Recently a voice actress and one of Dragon Age Inquisition's producers have dropped hints at Dragon Age 4.
Not to mention that Mass Effect Andromeda is still slated to be a trilogy according to most sources.
I do not think Bioware is going anywhere, I think the Boards were closed because too many people were overly verbal in their criticism and Electronic Arts is sort of stodgy in that aspect. Electronic Arts is hurting behind the scenes in regards to their stock value, eliminate the success of Bioware and it's far worse and it would eventually kill EA who would have to close too many studios to keep above water as they focus on Madden and likely Battlefield as their main productions.
And if Bioware was dissolved, Bethesda Softworks, Obsidian Entertainment or someone else would hire their employees and focus on similar type games seeing the success of both franchises.

That is what happens when you create something so beloved that people get emotionally invested, think about sports fanaticism, we see it with parents but on a whole that is minor.

People are also forgetting that Dragon Age and Mass Effect are multi-media properties. Both have several novels, comics, anime movies, and toys. Dragon Age has had a live action web series released on DVD and Mass Effect has a live action movie that is currently stuck in development hell. EA wants those continues those franchises because those deals makes as much money in those deals than as games and the DLC.
