G'day folks! So to keep this subject alive somewhere, I'm reposting this here:
OK so this topic is basically about little things that you only just found out about despite playing the game(s) plenty of times. This can apply to all three games, but in my example it's something I just discovered in ME3. I used to cycle through the phrases from the Shepard VI in the docks, but I never knew that what it says is based on whether or not you were a Paragon or Renegade Shepard. I'm finally going Renegon, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear new phrases from it. Personally I think the Renegade one is much better. I especially love how the VI insists on being put in a combat mech, or a drone with a Cain attached to it.
It's really surprising how much is really crammed into these games. It's a big part of the reason why I'm so attached to these games. Tons of little details and so much effort into making the game world as rich as can be.

Excellent.
I will start copying/pasting my posts from that thread to here.
One that I ask is if folks copy/paste something from that thread that someone else found, give that poster credit in your post

When heading to Earth with ems below 2300, a reaper capital ship destroys an Alliance ship and a destroyer is seen landing on top of a Turian ship to destroy it
If ems is above 2300, an Alliance ship destroys two legs of a capital ship before it gets destroyed
When talking with Anderson at the fob, he will have 3 lines of dialogue based on ems
if ems is below 2600, he will say less than 25% of hammer made it
if ems is between 2600-3399, he will say less than 40% of hammer has made it
if ems is above 3400, he will say barely 50% of hammer has made it
During the beam run both squadmates will be killed if ems is below 1900. I don't know where that number came from, but when I did that I always had my ems below 1900. In my last 3 playthroughs, I decided to test that number. Its not 1900, its 2000. So if your ems is below 2000, both squadmates will be killed.
With ems that low, it will show one of the squadmates reaching out with his/her left arm before being killed. To decide who that squadmate is, its based on the number of missions he/she was taken on and/or if the player talked with them
I had Liara and James, didn't talk to either of them, it was James since I took him on the most missions I took Ashley and James, talked with Ashley and she was the one reaching out with her left arm even though James went with me on more missions. The same thing happened when I took Ashley and Liara. I didn't talk to Liara, but talked to Ashley and she is the one reaching out with her left arm On another playthrough using only Liara and edi, it was Liara reaching out with her left arm because I talked with her.
After Shepard opens the arms, Hacketts ship will be taking damage if ems is below 2000 before the crucible docks with the Citadel
If ems is above 2000, Hacketts ship will not take any damage
When first encountering the cataylst, it will say 'why are you here' if ems is below 2700 It will say 'wake up' if ems is above 2700
When talking with the catalyst and Shepard chooses the bottom right dialogue while it mentions control, this dialogue will happen
S: I didn't fight this war just to give up everything I have C: And I don't look forward to being replaced by you, but...I would be forced to accept it S: Not if I refuse to do it. C: True, but you will be bound by these decisions, just like I am S: I'm not bound by anything. Not by you or these choices C: If you don't choose, you will be forced to accept our dominion. The harvest will proceed
The reason why I posted that dialogue is because I like it. Its better than the other dialogue the player gets if ems is above 2700. The dialogue only happens if ems is below 2700
If ems is above 2700, synthesis is available. 2800 is not needed
If ems is below 1750, only one ending will be available.
If the base is saved in ME2, control will be the only option if ems is below 1750. The door to the Normandy opens and still have the memorial scene
If the base is destroyed in ME2, destroy will be the only option. Earth is scorched. The door to the Normandy does not open suggesting everyone onboard is dead.
If playing an ME3 default playthrough, the game assumes the base is destroyed leaving destroy as the only option if ems is below 1750
If ems is between 1750-2000, Big Ben is destroyed and the soldiers are not cheering. Hacketts' speech will be slightly different than higher ems
If ems is above 2000, Big Ben is ok, the soldiers are cheering and Hackett has the same speech as high ems
If ems is above 2600, the relays don't explode. Below 2600, the relays explode
If ems is above 2600, Joker is being very calm in the c**kpit. Below 2600, he's in panic mode
If ems is above 2600, the Normandys is seen flying off the planet. Below 2600, the Normandy is stuck on the unknown planet
If ems is above 2600, cutsecenes will be shown of the reapers destroyed on Thessia and Tuchanka. Below 2600, the cutscenes are not seen
I have posted that Anderson gives 200 war assets if 'saved' and takes away 100 war assets if TIM kills him. I never tested those numbers on low ems. This time I did and it changes nothing. It only effects if your ems is at 2900 or higher.
So if the player heads to Earth with 2900 ems and TIM doesn't shoot Anderson, the player will get the breath scene if destroy is chosen. If the player has TIM shoot Anderson having ems at 2900, the breath scene will not happen if destroy is chosen. The numbers make no difference if ems is at 3200 or higher when heading to Earth.
Whenever I want to get the breath scene, I make sure to have my ems at 3200 or higher when heading to Earth just in case I decide I want TIM to shoot Anderson

Samantha will get an extra scene in the game if Garrus is not in ME3 And she gets extra dialogue talking with Tali if Garrus isn't in ME3 Once you gain control of Shepard, after the Thessia mission, go to deck 3 and talk with Tali, who is standing by the memorial wall, and she will mention Thessia and Shepard mentions he/she has doubts about the Crucible. After talking with her I went down to deck 4 and saw Javik and Liara. After that I went back to deck 3 and got this dialogue between Traynor and Tali over the intercom Tali: She went straight to her cabin. She's not answering her comms. Traynor: Do you think its bad? Tali: I've never seen Liara like this. Not even after Noveria. Traynor: What do you think we should do? Tali: Can you talk to her? You're from Earth. You know how's she's feeling. Traynor: My world is occupied. Hers is being destroyed. Besides, you know her better than I do. Tali: I just regained my homeworld. She just lost hers Traynor: You just have to let her grieve in her own way... unless you want to give her a call.

I just finished my ME3 default playthrough
The highest level I got by doing the least amount was level 29. I did Earth, Mars, Manae, Sur'Kesh, Rachni, genophage, coup, dreadnought, Koris, reaper base, Thessia, Horizon, Chronos and Earth. I did end up getting the breath scene
my paragon/renegade/reputation levels were so low that I couldn't
convince Steve to take a break convince Mordin to sabotage the genophage rescue Koris get the paragon or renegade dialogue when facing Henry Lawson convince Tactus to give me his medical supplies have TIM shoot himself I was surprised I got the paragon and renegade dialogue when facing Kaidan
Just before shooting the tube, I looked at my paragon/renegade/reputation and had less than 2 bars filled
The times I've done an ME3 default playthrough, I noticed that during the destroy epilogue when Hackett mentions the ones that were lost, it shows Thane. I don't know if he's seen in the other endings, but if I was a new player I would be wondering who the character is and why is he being shown. His name is on the wall, but never mentioned at all.

If you don't talk to Thane at Huerta Memorial before the Cerberus coup, he will simply disappear. No word of his death, no chance to communicate with him, the game will forget him as thoroughly as though he never existed. So much for trying to bypass the forced death scene.

[Doesn't this thread properly belong on Story, Campaign and Characters? At least, that's where it was on the Bioware Forum.]
I forget if I mentioned this but it's a pretty recent discovery. In Lair of the Shadow Broker, I learned that Garrus has a playlist song from "Fleet and Flotilla", which we known from the Citadel DLC is one of Tali's favorite movies. Possible foreshadowing of something between them?
Also, I found a bald guy wearing Ash's original armor near Docking Bay D24. It was interesting seeing this guy decked out in white with pink highlights.

I'm glad you make all these hard choices so I don't have to. It's really difficult for me to play full on Renegade. I haven't been back to it in a while but I started a Renegade for ME1 but then decided I was going to be Paragon with my friends and Renegade to others. I don't quite know if he'll end up Paragade or Renegon but eventually I'll find out.
