I can almost guarantee you that the Jennifer Hale speech will be given in game at some point. My thought is maybe about halfway through the prologue, right before Ryder's ship is attacked before she wakes up and says, "We made it." I'm mixed on that. I recall the read being good but that last line was haunting and stuck with me. I love it. But I also worry about any contact with the prior trilogy. Edit: while I'm usually great at remembering exactly how something was said, I just watched the trailer again and didn't like that last line as much lol. It was more abrupt and harsh than I recalled it. I originally thought of her reading it softly, which fit the music and tone of the rest of it.

If its a weak beginning, it may prevent folks from getting the game. It may also say what the rest of the game might be like.

This also fits in perfectly with the trilogy, where she was stoic about half of the time. But to each their own, I guess.

However you characterize it, it is very different from the tone of the rest of the speech. It's almost like Shepard (not necessarily Hale) is ready to be done with this damn message already.

What would be interesting is if Hale's speech was used in the game. I don't know if anyone's commented but only her speech was in-character (vs Meer's MEA speech), which would tickle me endlessly if they used it in MEA. Because at that point, femShep's canon! It's a cool thought.

I'd prefer it takes a note from ME1....
Maybe have a drawn out cinematic (after the opening crawl), showing the ship leaving the Milky Way behind and arriving in Andromeda, have us waking out of cryogenic sleep and getting our bearings, let us walk around the ship and get acquainted with the Ark environment which will presumably be the central hub for the Milky Way species, then have us briefed and put boots on the ground in order to investigate our new home galaxy.
