About the ARKs
Are there 3, 4 or more? The leak said something about a stolen Krogan colony ship and that the Krogan colony needs it to survive.
Does this mean there are Asari and Salarian colonies? Did the ARKs carry colony ships inside them? Have they dispersed on arrival and settled somewhere? Is exploration the only way to find these "lost" settlements?
Well, it certainly gives purpose for exploration.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? Well, the EA Play video showed 3 over Earth, so there are without a doubt at least 3 Ark ships, one of which we know is called the Hyperion. I have almost no doubt that the Ark ships carry other ships with them, docked inside for the trip. For example the Tempest. To use an example from another franchise, in the Halo franchise the UNSC Infinity is a massive ship and within it it carries several smaller but still big ships, and lots of small ships. I can see Bioware doing a similar thing with Mass Effect. As for whether the ships dispersed, possibly once colonies are established. I imagine at first the recon ships, like the Tempest, are sent out and look for suitable planets. Once planets are located, then the bigger colony ships are sent to establish the colony. Meanwhile the Arks themselves serve as a Citadel-like hub for all the people and crews.

Or it's just the engine maker that's called the Hyperion. Of course, to be completely fair... You would want a tempest coming out of an old god. Almost assuredly they do have ships docked in them to do something like recon. Better to have a ship with a hundred people on board get blown to smithereens by hostile alien life forms than to put an ark with a million people in jeopardy.
My theory about the arks is this, they get split up either going to (a mistake) or after they arrive (in order to cover more ground). Of course, that is just just my way of thinking about things. Flinging $#%* against a wall and seeing what sticks. Same way with the asari in the trailer. I'm going to assume that she's our half sister, because why not? BioWare loves doing this kind'a thing.

While the trend seems to have started within DA:I, I really hope that there are more options for romance outside of a straight or lesbian relationship honestly. I was really surprised about the pilot in Mass Effect 3 who talked about losing his husband at Horizon and I think it would be tasteful to do something similar with this new arc as well for your creation. I suppose the pinnacle (not segueing to the DLC station lol) for my interest would be a transgender character but I understand just how complicated that might make interactions within the lore of the series.
To be fair I don't want it to be center stage but allow for differences in a wide variety of orientations and gender identities within the structure. It is just a hope so please don't blast or flame me for my opinion.

The majority of our relationships and interactions on the ship aren't with romantic partners and these are majorly overlooked by comparison which detracts from cultivating a believable world. I understand romance is a big part of BioWare games for a lot of fans but i'm so over the 'formula' at this point and would glady sacrifice traditional bioware romances to some extent if that is the cost for having a lot more meaningful day to day interaction with everyone else on the ship.

Make the armour more accessible, and more options in general. I liked how the system was in ME2, you could get pretty much all the armour at a fairly early point which allowed you to customise your Shepard the way you wanted them to look with plenty of gameplay left to admire that look.
In ME3, a few of my favourite pieces couldn't be obtained until rather late in the game.
Also, I would like there to be at least SOME effect from your Mass Effect 3 ending...but it's already been confirmed that it won't be the case. Would've been nice to see people with green eyes in my playthrough, but oh well. This is in another galaxy, after all.

Much to do about Barrier, Fortification, DM & Tech Armor
Had a deliciously good gameplay idea i'd like to share about what BioWare could do with these defensive powers to make them more worthwhile in Andromeda and i'd like to get the community's take on it.
They've always felt like a wasted opportunity to me and a real waste of a bonus/power slot given the ready availability of better alternatives like Energy Drain, etc. and lack of overall utility.
BioWare admirably tried to differentiate them in ME3 but these additions generally detracted from the defensive properties of them;
Purging your armor ability for special effects in the middle of combat was generally counter-productive by making you completely vulnerable in tight spaces without defences given the need to use them in close range. I'd like to suggest an alternative approach where these defensive powers are now class specific and replace the fitness skill tree(s) from ME3. Every combat specialist should be at peak fitness - to not do so is dereliction of duty.
We could still have a variation of these special abilities attached to these defensive powers introduced in ME3 but these effects could instead be passively active and not dependent on armor purging which would co-incidentally free up a bonus/power slot on each class to accommodate extra room on the power wheel (for non-passive powers). These passive effects could be tailored via the skill tree evolutions, e.g.
Fortification (Soldier) Passive effects: Damage Protection or Extra Melee Damage evolutions
Tactical Matrix (Infiltrator) Passive effect: Damage Protection or Hunter Mode-inspired evolutions
Defense Matrix (Engineer) Passive effect: Damage Protection or Shield Drain
Tech Armor (Sentinel) Passive effect: Damage Protection or Extra Tech Damage
Barrier (Adept) Passive effect: Damage Protection or Barrier Drain
Fortified Barrier (Vanguard) Passive effects: Damage Protection or Power & Melee Damage
Thoughts?

You could find all types of armor (or buy them), then it was just a matter of the level that they were. With this game's greatest asset being exploration, I have a feeling that we'll be seeing this as more and more common. Maybe not "Whoops, I just sold Tali's armor." But at least in finding it and then being able to cycle through it.

I really want to know how big these ships are. Massive no doubt.

I like to see the crewmembers have more content. They're just as important as the squadmates It would be nice to have more interaction with them. Failing that they could randomly generate crewmembers names, appearances and traits like XCOM which would be a neat idea to enhance replay value if they aren't going to have any more screen time or impact on the story. This would be cool for replays, but a tad disconcerting for individual play-throughs, though could make sense for an occasional transfer or depending on what shift was available at the time of play. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>
Good news is that I believe ME:A will come out in 2017 (from EA Financial Investors Day).
On Customization Though I like the idea of each team member customizing their own gear, too much gives me the notion that the team is not cohesive. Something like barbarians doing their own thing and not like Roman soldiers. Soldiers are disciplined, trained to work as a unit...
Having said that, Besides the obvious gear upgrades, maybe the ability to apply notches to your armour / weapon per kill? or per kill per type?
Guanxi suggested giving your team money to allow them to customize their own gear. A good idea.
On gear upgrades I'm torn between me updating their gear to suit my combat needs or allow them to do their own. I'd prefer both options. I can make a choice as I play.
While individual customization/upgrades would be cool to manage, i think it better suited in DA then ME. Between the series, at least for me, DA's more about being a hardcore cRPG where ME's a very cinematic-heavy, light cRPG shooter. <<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>

Thoughts? The number shown in the last trailer was three, though there's no reason there has to be only three of them. And, as far as i'd figure, they are the colony ships, though maybe the Krogan opted to make their own for the trek. Considering these vessels are likely not much larger than standard space carriers, the Krogana would have had the time to build, though secrecy obviously would be in question.

I was kind of partial to the way ME1 did specializations in some ways to be honest... I don't know if that's a popular opinion but I kind of liked it better than the later games. =-)
