Armor Customization for squadmates in ME:A?
Armor (& gear) customization for squadmates in ME1 was I feature I always enjoyed because not only did it add some much needed visual variety to replays and even impacted gameplay but it also provided a lovely sense of visible progression throughout the game as you watched your rag-tag band of rookies starting with their basic gear and load-outs slowly progressively trade up to bigger and better things. It made the economy & inventory system and earning credits infinitely more satisfying. I liked how if you felt a squadmate was too flimsy or did not contribute enough in combat you had some recourse to address the situation. Or maybe you lavished all your credits on your favorite squadmates (your best guy or gal) as an imagined reward. I liked that it wasn't all about you and there was a trade off between spending credits on yourself or improving or enhancing your squadmates effectiveness instead.
I'd love for this to return in Andromeda. Perhaps having a modular armor customization for squadmates would be an idea BioWare could explore in future titles but until then I'd be better happy with a re-imagining of the ME1 squadmate inventory system with some modern touches. If BioWare could adapt the ME3MP customization menu into this system where you could customize the color, material and the patterns, lights of squadmate armors that would be awesome.
Perhaps in addition to armors and outfits maybe squadmates could equip accessories like visors, helmets, head-gear or extra grenade pouches, etc. Thoughts?

Maybe it's not a famous opinion but I want the Mako back.

I like to see the crewmembers have more content. They're just as important as the squadmates

I like to see the crewmembers have more content. They're just as important as the squadmates It would be nice to have more interaction with them. Failing that they could randomly generate crewmembers names, appearances and traits like XCOM which would be a neat idea to enhance replay value if they aren't going to have any more screen time or impact on the story.

Good news is that I believe ME:A will come out in 2017 (from EA Financial Investors Day).
On Customization Though I like the idea of each team member customizing their own gear, too much gives me the notion that the team is not cohesive. Something like barbarians doing their own thing and not like Roman soldiers. Soldiers are disciplined, trained to work as a unit...
Having said that, Besides the obvious gear upgrades, maybe the ability to apply notches to your armour / weapon per kill? or per kill per type?
Guanxi suggested giving your team money to allow them to customize their own gear. A good idea.
On gear upgrades I'm torn between me updating their gear to suit my combat needs or allow them to do their own. I'd prefer both options. I can make a choice as I play.

Well, since it's a human centric story, maybe you'll get your wish. Personally, having the Tempest crewed by a Krogan and Solarian is a bit disturbing. It is inconsistent with human colonization program.
I think the devs put them there to appease the fans.

Why are you baselessly making the assumption that the Ark Project is a strictly human endeavour? Humanity doesn't have the cash, resources or the technology for a project of this scale.

Hm... baseless?... no. I gave a possible scenario elsewhere. But, to recap:
The Tech 1. During ME2, the Alliance raided a secret Cerberus Lab working on advanced FTL tech Or 2. A secret Alliance Lab working on it. One or both made a breakthrough.
I'm sure the Bio writers can come up with other possibilities. And, the idea that the Asari or Salarians had the tech is also baseless, because it's speculation... just like mine. Now, why Alliance alone? For one, the names of the ARKs and Pathfinder and ARKCON. Also, with a faster FTL drive, the Alliance went to the other three and said here is what we have and what we intend to do. Interested? = they chipped in.
As to the cash. Give me a break. Governments go into debt all the time during wars. Just look at the Republicans under Bush.

Maybe we'll need it if the areas are huge. Except, if we visit a Hinterland type area, would the Mako be able to navigate?

From how fast the Mako is moving in the trailer, I say its good thing. I don't want to take more time than I have to travelling through areas with not much to see while getting to my destination

Lol maybe it's for quick retreats!
Yes, that trailer. Somehow, I can't see that happening in the actual game. A cut scene only? Perhaps it all falls down to how well it will handle. More likely, how we can handle the Mako.

If the protheans couldn't figure it out in 22,000 years with a population in the tens of trillions, and the asari and salarians couldn't figure it out in 2000 years with a population of trillions, humanity sure as hell couldn't figure it out in 30 years with a population of 13 billions. Their specialness has already transcended reasonable limits by several million factors, your scenarios would only make it exponentially worse. "I'm sure the Bio writers can come up with other possibilities" Obviously this is false since they're sending us to Andromeda when that is blatantly impossible according to the lore. If they wanted intergalactic travel to be possible, they should have established that as early as ME1 instead of expressly stating INTRAgalactic travel is borderline impossible without the Mass Relays. If intragalactic travel is borderline impossible without the Mass Relays, intergalactic travel must logically be superduperultramega-impossible. "Now, why Alliance alone? For one, the names of the ARKs and Pathfinder and ARKCON." By this logic, the Citadel must be human-made since it has signs in english all over the goddamn place. Oooooooor they simply appear in english to us because it's a convenience for players to know what the signs say since we don't have real time translators embedded in our brains. We have one confirmed name, Hyperion after the greek titan, and for some reason that has people thinking there are only twelve arks and that all of them are named after greek titans even though there is literally zero evidence to suggest this is true. So, you are basically basing your speculation on speculation and calling it fact. "Also, with a faster FTL drive, the Alliance went to the other three and said here is what we have and what we intend to do. Interested? = they chipped in." Yeah but they don't have a faster FTL drive, and if a faster FTL drive was ever developed, it would be developed by the technologically, economically and numerically superior asari, salarians and turians. "As to the cash. Give me a break. Governments go into debt all the time during wars. Just look at the Republicans under Bush." If you're going to pick a war as an example of necessary and justified debt, why on earth did you pick the most unnecessary and least justifiable war in the last century? The US went deep into debt in WW2 as well, but at least that was a justified war as the germans were invading their allies and killing millions of civilians. And by the time the Arks leave, the war hasn't actually begun. So the idea of it being a wartime investment makes no sense, unless you're suggesting the governments went behind the backs of their populations to funnel trillions of credits into a vanity project that may or may not be a good investment if Shepard's ramblings about the Reapers end up being true. You're not a stupid guy, Sartoz (at the very least I don't hope so), but you should really give more fucks about internal logic and consistency. Right now you're on the "Just make shit up"-track Mac Walters has spent the last 8 years on, and that's only going to make this franchise worse than it's already become.

Was it Flynn that said ME:A will give us an unprecedented amount of freedom? Sounds really good. I believe he meant freedom to explore planets in any order. Maybe this is how we will find and recruit our team.

Hey, It's a new game, we now are in the Helius cluster and I don't really care how I got there.... but some people are really stuck in the "impossible train" and can't get off it. Fair enough. They can be satisfied with their own explanations or lack there of... Me? I can easily detach myself from the trilogy warts and all and enjoy Andromeda.
I can speculate that the game will be written for the non Mass Effect newbie. The old farts will be thrown a bone or two. The "how we got here" is probably explained in the prequel book and people can bitch about that too, 'cause it doesn't account for the "facts".
Leaving MW now.
